DANCE DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Location: Streetfunk Studios in Brighton & Hove
Salary: £12,500 per year pro rata
Hours: Part-time, flexible working hours (including evenings and weekends as required)

Join our dynamic and growing Streetdance school as a Dance Development Officer, where you’ll inspire communities, build partnerships, and help expand our presence across West Sussex.

About Us


Streetfunk is the South Coast’s most successful Streetdance school. Established in 2006, we are a thriving Streetdance school offering high-energy, engaging dance programmes for all ages. From classes and workshops to community events and performances, we aim to spread the positive impact and joy of dance and make it accessible to everyone. Our vision is to expand into new towns, cities, and schools while inspiring more people to move, groove, and connect.

Your Role


As a Dance Development Officer, you will:

  1. Build relationships with schools, community centres, and local organisations to introduce our programmes.
  2. Promote dance classes and events within your assigned region.
  3. Organise and host classes, workshops, taster sessions, and performances to generate excitement about Streetdance.
  4. Collaborate with local businesses, influencers, and community leaders to expand our reach.
  5. Leverage social media platforms (including TikTok) to showcase our classes and attract new students.
  6. Develop creative, region-specific dance programmes tailored to community needs.
  7. Monitor and measure the success of your initiatives, adapting strategies to maximise growth.

What We Are Looking For

  • A passion for Hip Hop and Streetdance and community engagement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in dance teaching, event management, or outreach (preferred but not essential).
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet targets.
  • Basic social media and marketing skills, including familiarity with platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
  • A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel within your assigned region.
